Join us on a journey through Armenia’s ancient history and natural beauty. Visit the only remaining pagan temple at Garni, marvel at the unique architecture of the partially rock-carved Geghard Monastery, and explore the breathtaking Symphony of Stones in Garni Gorge. This tour offers a perfect blend of cultural heritage and natural wonders.
Pagan Temple of Garni
The first stop is the 1st-century Pagan Temple of Garni, the only one in the CIS. This magnificent temple, once the summer residence for four Armenian royal dynasties, was built by King Tiridates I and dedicated to Mithra, the god of sun and justice. The site also has ruins of a palace, a Christian church, and Roman baths with mosaics.
Geghard Monastery
Next, we visit the cliffside Geghard Monastery in the scenic gorge of the Azat River. Dating back to the 13th-14th centuries, this revered site features rock-carved churches, tombs, and a healing spring. Saint Gregory the Illuminator, the founder of the Armenian Church, also spent time here.
Symphony of Stones
We’ll then explore the Symphony of Stones, a unique basalt column formation resembling an organ’s pipes. These 80-meter cliffs formed from rapidly cooled lava and are easily accessible, making them a tourist favorite.
